Deborah C. England
Deborah C. England, recognized as a "Northern California Super Lawyer" by Super Lawyers magazine, defends and promotes the rights of employees in litigation, negotiation, and consultation. Ms. England has received the highest "AV" Peer Review Rating for preeminent attorneys by LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell.
The emphasis of Ms. England's practice is on discrimination, harassment, retaliation, privacy violations, denial of family and medical leave, and other civil rights violations. In her 30+ years in practice, she has also frequently represented employees in whistle blowing, wrongful termination in violation of public policy, breach of contract, unpaid bonuses and commissions, and wage and hour actions.
Ms. England is the author of The Harassment and Discrimination Answer Book (Nolo 2009) and the co-author (with Lisa Guerin) of The Essential Guide to Family and Medical Leave (Nolo 2007). She has written numerous articles on employment law and other issues, and regularly speaks on employment issues before legal, human resources, and other professional organizations.
Ms. England has qualified and testified as an employment law expert in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Ms. England litigates cases in California state and federal courts, and has argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
